New Senior Head Coach

Leicester City Ladies are pleased to announce the appointment of Holly Searson as Head Coach of the senior section of the club for the forthcoming season. Holly who is a UEFA ‘A’ Licence Prep qualified coach comes highly recommended with experience as player and coach at Lincoln City Women’s FA Centre of Excellence, Captain of Lincoln College Women’s FA Academy, Nottingham Forest Ladies, Red Bull New York SC and Manchester United.
Holly is a replacement for Matt Cook who has decided to stand down as First Team Manager after seven years in the position. Leicester City Ladies would like to put on record their appreciation of all Matt’s efforts in the growth and development of the club. Matt remains part of the club and will continue to support the growth of Women’s Football.
Leicester City Ladies are looking forward to the new season at Aylestone Park with Holly and her team making full use of the brand new ATP pitch for training, now twice a week, and using the main pitch for all home fixtures. The club can now offer the best facilities available in the county for the development of Junior and Senior Women’s football.
Speaking after making his decision to step down as First Team Manager Matt Cook commented “It has been 7 years and at 29 years of age it is now time for me to take on new challenges. Leicester City Ladies have been a key part in my development as a coach, a manager and a person and I will always be eternally grateful for them giving me the opportunity and I would like to think I grabbed it with both hands. I have so many fantastic memories that I cannot go into in one statement but when I think of all that’s been achieved its quite remarkable and for that I have to thank every single player over the past seven years, also every coach and committee member who backed the seniors at key times. I believe I have built friendships that will remain for a long time and that is the most rewarding thing I will take from my time as First Team Manager that far surpasses any footballing results. To conclude I have to thank Club Chairman Steve Crayfourd for trusting me at 22 years of age to work with the seniors, Club Secretary Sue Foulkes for being by my side at every moment, Mary Rudkin for guiding the football side and Mark Yates who promoted my teams so well and all the great volunteers who have helped me in anyway. Leicester City Ladies is a fantastic football club and I leave the first team management post with a heavy heart and all I can say is thank you! I have had the best time I can’t even begin to explain what the club has given me. I wish the new management team every success in the new season.”
