City take Reds all the Way

This game against Nottingham Forest Ladies would determine Leicester City Ladies place in either the League Cup Plate or Trophy competitions, City’s destiny was the plate as most people would of expected against our Premier League opponents however that doesn’t tell the story of the match.
A spirited Leicester City Ladies side showed an organised and battling display to push the Reds to extra time.
Leicester City goalkeeper Cattell pulled off a couple of wonderful saves for the home team but the overall performance was a credit to all. Forest posed a threat on the City goal but it was City striker Preston who nearly won the game in stoppage time only to see her effort pushed into the bar by the Forest goalkeeper. Extra time was very even and it was a rebounded goal which gave the away team the tie late on the extra time.
Although cruel on the home side Leicester City Ladies can be proud of their ability to play at the higher level.
